August 2008 Puppies are Here

Annoucements   21 Comments »

We are pleased to announce that the new puppies have arrived!

This was a very long and tiresome whelp for our Dam and for us.

1:00am August 6th 2008

Malfoy began her panting, shaking and nesting. (Stage One)

5:00am August 6th 2008

Malfoy decided that there was to be no sleeping and that we were to stay with her at all times. The panting, shaking and nesting continued throughout the morning.

10:00am August 6th 2008

After nine hours of panting and no signs of pushing we decided to have our vet take a look. No problems were found and everything was good to go, just moving very slowly. More panting, nesting and shaking. We continued to take Malfoy out to the washroom every two hours so she could clean out her bowls and bladder.

1:00pm August 6th 2008

Tried to sneak in a nap to catch a bit of sleep however, Malfoy would not allow it; she wanted us awake and with her at all times.

5:00pm August 6th 2008

Vet called to check up and see how things were going and to let us know she would be heading home for the day should we need her.

6:05pm August 6th 2008

First large fluid discharge (water break). Much heavier panting and nesting now, shaking as well.

7:00pm August 6th 2008

Pushing begins! (Stage Two) Good contractions every few minutes.

8:00pm August 6th 2008

Half of the sack appears but doesn’t look quite right… Rather than a head we are presented with two rear feet. Grasping the two feet gently between fingers we smoothly but firmly guide the pup out.

First puppy is born! Female fawn boxer, white flashy paws, white on chest, small white marking on the back of the neck, dark mask around eyes, white up the face and a pretty pink nose.

The sack is broken, face is cleaned with a dry fluffy towel to remove fluid from the nose and mouth and the cord is then cut. Malfoy then cleans up the new born and allows feeding.

Panting picks up again and we wait.

10:00pm August 6th 2008

Sack appears and is quickly pushed out. Sack is broken, airways cleared and cord is cut. Second pup is born! Male fawn boxer puppy. White paws, white up the face, white chest and white marking on the back of the neck. Very smooth delivery.

Malfoy continues to let the first born feed while she cleans up #2. Once he has been cleaned she guides him to feed with his sister.

By this point our Dam is getting very tired, it has been 21 hours labor so far. She only pushes now on very large contractions and is trying to save strength. She is still happy and content, no signs of distress or abnormal discomfort.

1:00am August 7th 2008

Now 24 hours since labor began the third puppy is born! Male charcoal brindle boxer, white paw tips, small white markings on tummy and a small white marking on nose. Delivery was long but very smooth. Airways cleaned and cord cut. Malfoy cleans up this pup and then guides him to feed with the others.

Malfoy now decides that she will rest her head for a few minutes between contractions.

4:00am August 7th 2008

At last the final puppy arrives! Female fawn boxer, white around her collar, tall white socks on the front paws and short white socks on the rear paws, white markings up the face and on the tummy, and a pretty pink nose. Her airways are cleaned and cord is cut. Pup is quickly cleaned up and placed with her kin.

Malfoy is then checked and cleaned up. Pups are placed in a basket while the whelping box is cleaned and fresh blankets are laid out. Malfoy and pups are then placed back in the fresh whelping box and all soon fall fast asleep.

5:00am August 7th 2008

The house is quiet, mother and puppies are all resting. All is well with the new litter.

9:00am August 7th 2008

Vet calls to see how thing went through the night. We give her the details and she is pleased to hear that all is well. We book our appointment for Malfoy’s checkup, puppies checkup and vaccinations.

Health Guarantee

Annoucements   No Comments »

JadeBoxers have made every effort to provide you with a healthy puppy. This puppy is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of delivery or pick-up. We guarantee that all vaccinations and wormings have been given as described.

For the protection of the purchaser and the seller, the puppy must be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of taking possession of this puppy. If the sales transaction takes place on Friday and Monday is a holiday, the buyer will be given an extra 24 hours to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian. If this puppy is found to have a life threatening hereditary congenital defect or any major health problem at this exam, a replacement puppy (contigent on availability) of the same sex and breed will be given, provided that the seller is notified within 24 hours after the exam. If the Buyer does not take the puppy/dog to a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours from the date of purchase, this warranty becomes null and void. The puppy must be returned to the Breeder along with the medical papers at no expense to the breeder, with a signed document from two non associated licensed Veterinarians stating the defect or problem. We do not refund money. We, the breeder, are not responsible for any veterinarian bills acquired by you, the buyer.

Some disorders may be caused by environmental factors, for example: cocidia, giardia, kennel cough, cancer, demodectic mange, scabies, allergies and other autoimmune system disorders and these are not covered in this guarantee. This guarantee does not include injuries, fleas, mites, kennel cough or any other intestinal worms/parasites, as they are common in dogs and puppies. This guarantee also does not include uneven bites, undescended testicles, Class I to II insignificant murmurs, inguinal or umbilical hernias. We, the Breeders, will not be responsible for Parvo, Distemper or Cornona Virus after 48 hours of the sale, as these are highly contagious diseases and they can be contacted immediately after leaving the Breeder. We will not be responsible for illness or health problems, which are diagnoses after this time period, except where stated in this contract.

Your puppy is guaranteed for 1 year from the date of birth against life threatening congenital defects. If within that time a life threatening congenital defect (not to include parvo virus, distemper virus, heartworms or any nutrition related disease) is attested to by two non-associated veterinarians and the reason is congenital, the Breeder will replace the puppy with another puppy of same breed and sex (if our veterinarian agrees with the required written reports). The original puppy must be returned to the Breeder at no cost to the Breeder. The breeder must be notified at the onset of the problem, in writing, with a report from the veterinarians. The replacement will be subject to availability (within 12 months). We, the breeder, are not responsible for any veterinarian bills acquired by you, the buyer.

In the unlikely event of this puppy’s death in the first 1-year, due to congenital defect, a statement from a Veterinarian confirming such an event and cause is required before any action will be taken by the Breeder. If cause is unknown, an autopsy is required. The Breeder will not be responsible for any Veterinary or Medical bills incurred.

You, the buyer, agree to insure your puppy’s good health and to keep our guarantee in effect by taking good care of the puppy and providing good food, housing and good medical care. As a responsible puppy owner/buyer you must provide your puppy with routine preventive care and all immunizations, administer monthly heart worm preventatives and annual physical examinations by a licensed veterinarian. Please remember that puppies are babies and they need lots of tender loving care! As an added precaution, we recommend you shelter your puppy from other dogs (outside your home) and unknown uncontrolled, environments (ex. rest areas, malls, dog playgrounds, etc) for the first 4 months of their life.

This guarantee is valid for the original buyer that purchased the dog. If the dog is transferred to another owner this guarantee is null and void. This guarantee is also null and void if any of the terms and conditions are not fulfilled.

The Breeder makes no guarantees, expressed or implied, under this contract except as stated above.
